Lyric Lab – Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Lyric Lab Google Docs add-on.
By installing or using Lyric Lab, you agree to these Terms.

About Lyric Lab

Lyric Lab is a songwriting productivity tool that provides features for managing alternate lyrics, rewrites, songwriting notes, snapshots, rhyme information, song structure, and related songwriting workflows within Google Docs.

Your Content

You retain ownership of the lyrics, songs, notes, and other creative material you create or edit using Lyric Lab.
Using Lyric Lab does not transfer ownership of your songwriting or other creative work to the developer.
Lyric Lab does not claim copyright ownership over your songs.

Permission to Process Your Content

To provide its features, Lyric Lab must be able to access and process portions of the Google document in which you use the add-on.
You authorize Lyric Lab to access and modify that content only as necessary to provide the features and actions you request.

Your Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • maintaining appropriate backups of important songwriting material;
  • reviewing changes made to your documents;
  • using Lyric Lab in accordance with applicable laws and Google policies; and
  • ensuring you have the necessary rights to material you place into your documents.

Availability and Changes

Lyric Lab may be updated, changed, temporarily unavailable, or discontinued.
Features may also change as the software develops.
Reasonable efforts will be made to avoid data loss or destructive behavior, but no software tool can guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

No Guarantee of Creative Results

Lyric Lab is a songwriting productivity and organizational tool.

It does not guarantee:

  • commercial success;
  • song placements or cuts;
  • publishing agreements;
  • copyright protection;
  • originality of a lyric;
  • artistic quality; or
  • acceptance by artists, publishers, labels, or other industry professionals.

Songwriting decisions remain the responsibility of the user.

Disclaimer of Warranties

Lyric Lab is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law.
No warranty is made that Lyric Lab will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every songwriting workflow.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Lyric Lab will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages resulting from use of or inability to use Lyric Lab.

Users should maintain appropriate copies or backups of important creative work.

Google Services

Lyric Lab operates in conjunction with Google Docs and Google Workspace services.

Google services are provided by Google under Google’s own terms and policies. Lyric Lab is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Termination

You may stop using Lyric Lab at any time by uninstalling or removing the add-on.

Access to Lyric Lab may be restricted when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security issues, legal requirements, or violations of these Terms.

Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated as Lyric Lab changes.
