Hey, I’m Josh.
I’m a country songwriter based in Kentucky, writing with artists and songwriters both locally and in Nashville. I’ve been writing songs for more than 20 years, but over the last couple of years I’ve made a much more intentional push into songwriting. I’ve writing consistently, cowriting, playing writers rounds, and trying to get better with every song.

For me, the goal is pretty simple: write songs that make somebody see something, feel something, or hear a line and wish they’d thought of it first.

I’m also a cybersecurity professional by day, which means my life sits in a slightly strange overlap of creativity and technology. That eventually led me to build Lyric Lab, a songwriting tool for Google Docs designed around the way songwriters actually rewrite — keeping alternate lines, unfinished ideas, rewrite notes, and the stuff you almost threw away close to the song instead of scattered everywhere.

When I’m not writing, I’m usually somewhere between Kentucky and Nashville, at a cowrite, a writers round, or thinking way too hard about one line that probably sounded fine three hours ago.

This site is home to my songs, Lyric Lab, and whatever else I’m working on along the way.

Thanks for stopping by.
