This Privacy Policy explains how Lyric Lab accesses, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Lyric Lab Google Docs add-on.
Lyric Lab is a songwriting productivity tool designed to operate within Google Docs.

Information Lyric Lab Accesses

When you use Lyric Lab, the add-on may access content from the Google document in which Lyric Lab is currently being used.

This can include:

  • Lyrics and other text in the current document
  • Text you highlight or select
  • The structural location of selected lyrics within the document
  • Alternate lyrics you choose to save
  • Rewrite flags and associated notes or categories
  • Snapshot information
  • Boneyard entries
  • Information generated by Lyric Lab features such as song structure, rhyme, or songwriting analysis

Lyric Lab requests only the Google permissions required to provide its functionality.

How Lyric Lab Uses Google User Data

Google user data accessed by Lyric Lab is used only to provide and improve the user-facing features of Lyric Lab.

For example, Lyric Lab may read selected text so that it can save an alternate lyric, reconnect a tracked lyric location, analyze rhyme patterns, or perform another action you explicitly request.

Lyric Lab may modify the current Google document when you instruct it to perform an action such as activating an alternate lyric or restoring a saved songwriting state.

Data Storage

Lyric Lab may store information needed to maintain Lyric Lab features associated with your songwriting workspace, such as saved alternate lyrics, tracked lyric locations, rewrite information, snapshots, settings, and Boneyard history.

This information is used to provide Lyric Lab functionality.

Lyric Lab is not designed as an independent cloud storage service for your songwriting catalog.

Data Sharing

Lyric Lab does not sell Google user data.
Lyric Lab does not transfer Google user data to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers.
Lyric Lab does not use Google user data for personalized advertising, credit decisions, or unrelated marketing purposes.
Lyric Lab does not intentionally share the contents of your songs with third parties except where required to operate a feature you have knowingly chosen to use, comply with applicable law, protect against security threats or abuse, or as otherwise permitted by the Google API Services User Data Policy.

Human Access to Song Content

The developer does not routinely access or review users’ private Google document content.

Human access would occur only when necessary and permitted, such as when:

  • you explicitly provide content while requesting support;
  • access is necessary to investigate a security or abuse issue;
  • access is required by applicable law; or
  • you otherwise provide affirmative permission.

Artificial Intelligence and Training

Lyric Lab does not sell your lyrics or intentionally provide your songwriting to third parties for the purpose of training advertising profiles or unrelated machine-learning systems.

Important: If a future Lyric Lab feature sends song content to an external artificial intelligence or other third-party service, this Privacy Policy and any applicable in-product disclosures will be updated before that feature is made available.

Data Retention and Deletion

Lyric Lab retains information only as needed to provide its features.
Where Lyric Lab provides reset, delete, or removal functionality, users may use those controls to remove Lyric Lab-managed working data.
Users may also remove Lyric Lab from their Google Account or uninstall the add-on.
